Appropriate use of internet dialup accounts

Xpressweb is not responsible for the actions of its customers. Any material transmitted or received via Xpressweb's network by an Xpressweb dialup user is the sole responsibility of that user. Individual users are completely responsible for their accounts and all content transmitted from or received by it. Xpressweb prohibits the use of its facilities to engage in any illegal or otherwise malicious activity.

Standard user accounts Standard accounts provide users with unmetered internet access. Customers using Xpressweb's standard account have access to most services that are available via the internet. Standard accounts also include up to 2 1/2 megabytes of World Wide Web Storage. This storage can be used for personal or informational purposes ONLY. Any commercial activity, including the sale of goods and services via personal web storage is prohibited, and may result in account suspension or termination. Business web storage is available for a small additional monthly rate. All material stored on an Xpressweb server is subject to Xpressweb's web content policy. Xpressweb also prohibits the use of a standard account to engage in blatant, unsolicited advertising of products or services. This includes improper e-mail solicitation or USENET postings (commonly called Spam). For more information on Spam, take a look at http://spam.abuse.net or contact Xpressweb. Standard accounts are also subject to Xpressweb's access policy.

Business user accounts Business accounts provide the same services as the standard account with the additional benefit of up to 5 megabytes of commercial web storage. Note that all material stored on an Xpressweb server is subject to Xpressweb's web content policy. Xpressweb prohibits the use of a business account to engage in blatant, unsolicited advertising of products or services. This includes improper e-mail solicitation or USENET postings (commonly called Spam). For more information on Spam, take a look at http://spam.abuse.net or contact Xpressweb. Business accounts are also subject to Xpressweb's access policy.

Multiple E-mail accounts Many customers have an standard user account or business user account with additional e-mail accounts. Having additional e-mail accounts does not, however, entitle a user to additional logins on Xpressweb's network. If your needs require that you be logged into Xpressweb from more than one machine at any given time, or to be dialed into Xpressweb using more than one modem, additional individual accounts must be set up to accommodate each connection. For additional information, see our dialup access policy.

Dedicated accounts A dedicated dialup account provides unmetered access to the internet. It is subject to our access policy, with regard to multiple simultaneous logins. However, the dedicated account is not subject to the idle connection clause. The dedicated account also provides for up to 25 megabytes of world wide web storage. The dedicated account cannot be used to engage in blatant, unsolicited advertising of products or services, including e-mail solicitation or improper USENET postings (Spam).

Xpressweb's Spam Policy

Spam is a term generally used on the Internet to describe unsolicted commercial e-mail or USENET postings. Spam e-mail usually is sent in the form of a mass-mailing. USENET Spam is usually a commercial solicitation posted to a USENET newsgroup that does not allow "for sale" postings. In many cases, these postings are cross-posted to various groups. Xpressweb maintains a zero-tolerance policy with regard to Spam. Any Xpressweb user found to be engaged in Spamming via e-mail or USENET will be terminated immediately from the system. Any and all cleanup costs resulting from this user's actions will be billed to that user.

Xpressweb uses mail filters in an attempt to filter out unwanted Spam. All Xpressweb users are encouraged to forward any Spam messages to craig@xpressweb.com for inclusion in our spam filtering system. When forwarding Spam, please include the mail headers, as we generally contact the Spammer's ISP so that disciplinary action can be taken.

If you would like additional information regarding Spam and why it is such a problem, please visit http://spam.abuse.net.
