| Striped Bass
Description: In the mid 1970's two and three inch striper fish
were planted in the Wahweap and Bullfrog bays. Four years later striped
bass weighing seven pounds were hooked. Now, big stripers thrive
everywhere on the lake. Adults can achive weights of 50 pounds. Stripers
feed mostly at night. Anglers seek to distract them by plopping popping
plugs in the melee. The striped bass is a supreme fighter seldom surfacing.
Fish biologists have determined that the lake's trout, crappie and
largemouth bass populations are not being preyed upon by the striped bass
