Ham Happenings

Of the KCARC

PIG OUT

What a great Spring Pot Lickers Dinner we had on Thursday 3 march. The surroundings and ambiance was especially nice. Because of double booking at the Senior Center, Jim and Joyce were nice enough to open their lovely home to us. Being the rowdy group that hams seem to be, that was rather risky on their part. We all appreciate your generous hospitality WI7M and N7KDU.

A VERY SPECIAL 73 TO DEAN AND FAYE

We sure hated to see you two go, but we are all so grateful that you only went as far as the Cole Ranch in New Mexico. At least we can still stay in touch via the air waves and from time to time a good ole’ eye ball. Since there is a landing strip on the ranch, I wondering if the club shouldn’t maybe see if we can spring enough from the treasure to purchase a small jet so we can go visit from time to time? I thought that it was very nice to see so many hams there on Thursday to help Dean load the truck.

Keep in mind that next Saturday the 12th will be our quarterly road clean up. As usual, we will be having one of those great Golden Hills breakfasts. Should there be any changes, you will hear about them on the early morning two meter gathering. Speaking of the early morning gathering ( I doublet that we could call it a net. Just a gathering.) At long last we now have a new stick control. N7KDU, Joyce is our new Madam Stick Control and she is doing a super job.

SPRING CAMP OUT

Some at last years Zion outing

The Zion outing this year will be any time you want to come and go between 16 April and 23 April. If you can’t make it for the whole day, be there when you can even if it is just for and afternoon or evening.

A Silent Key

As most of you know, Mel, KC7IIM shot over to the other side last month. Since he had been down sick for the last couple of years there may some of you that did not know Mel and Melba. They would spend the winter in their home in Las Vegas and then spend the summers here. We will miss them and all of the goodies from their big vegetable garden.

Now hear this------------ This resumption of a news letter is just a trial. If you would like to see it continue we will need to have some input from each of you from time to time.
