Snowmobiling in Brian Head offers some of southern Utah's most scenic vistas in the winter time such as the Cedar Breaks National Park and other views to take your breath away.

Brian Head has snowmobile trails going through the town and accessing the National Park areas and Dixie National Forest. You can bring your own snowmobile, or go on a guided snowmobile tour. There are facilities that provide sales, service and storage for your snowmobiles.

Utah State Parks and Recreation provides snowmobile trails from Cedar Breaks National Park to Panguitch Lake and down to Duck Creek; with all three areas providing gas, food, and lodging. Brian Head has town trails and local meadows that can give the beginner or the expert rider the terrain desired. All areas that snowmobilers are able to ride are located within the Dixie National Forest which surrounds Brian Head.

Before leaving on your own with your snowmobile, it is advisable to check the area that you will be riding in, and the snow and trail conditions, so that your ride can be a safe one. Crystal Mountain Recreation Inc. provides state and local snowmobile maps along with the trail conditions. There are town regulations regarding snowmobiling, so before your ride out, please check the local regulations.

Brian Head's elevation is between 9.400 and 11,000 feet; therefore, if you are bringing up your own snowmobile for the first time, make sure that your snowmobile has been high altituted for this elevation. If a guided snowmobile tour is up your alley, Crystal Mountain Recreation Inc. provides 1.5 and 3 hour snowmobile tours which will take you along the backside of Brian Head, allow you to view Cedar Breaks Naitonal Park, and give you time to play in the snow covered meadows of Brian Head. Your snowmobile guide will instruct you on the use of your snowmobile; helmets are provided and you can ride up to two peple on the snowmobile. Your guide will also take you through some of Brian Head and southern Utah's most scenic vistas. Bring your camera or video camera so that you can remember this day for a long time to come. You will need to call in advance for reservations and availability.
