Shred the Head: Snowboarding At Brian Head Resort

BRIAN HEAD, UT., - Brian Head Resort snowboarders have long enjoyed the area's commitment to this exploding sport. Natural boarder attractions combine with Resort programs to offer a complete snowboarding adventure for every ability.

Brian Head Resort has been "snowboard friendly" ever since the sport burst upon the winter scene, and places few restrictions on snowboarding. Brian Head enjoys increased boarder numbers. Snowboarders accounted for 9%of guests during the 1993/94 season, 16% during the 1994/95 season, and last year roughly 30% of guests were snowboarders.

ICE AGE SNOWBOARD PARK:

Thanks to Brian Head’s snowmaking system and high altitude, the Resort’s early season snowboard park traditionally opens by Thanksgiving. Located near the Giant Steps Base Lodge, the park hosts all Brian Head snowboard competitions and is meticulously maintained by the local boarder crew. This year, the park is presented and designed by team riders from Ice Age, including their world half-pipe champion.

RENTALS & LESSONS

The 1994/95 season was the first time Brian Head offered snowboard rentals. The next season tripled the rental inventory, and the 1996/97 season will also see a dramatic increase of snowboards available at our 5 Rental Shops, offering over 300 boards for Brian Head visitors.

Learning to board is made easy on the rider and their pocketbook at Brian Head. Guests may opt for the Beginner’s Special including lesson, all day lift ticket, and rentals for one low price. Advanced riders hone their boarding skills with specialized clinics and the Resort’s youngest boarders learn the sport with the Kids Shredders program offered through Brian Head’s Kid’s Camp for ages 8 to 12 years old.
