Most of our mountain bike trails will be snow-free after Memorial Day. Winters tend to be long at 9,700 ft., but then, summers are ideal for bicycling. Average highs for July and August are about 70 degrees, September starts to cool down slightly with the Aspen trees turning gold at the end of the month. October can bring us an Indian Summer, extending the bike season, or it can bring us a good snowstorm and early ski season.

Our elevation doesn't require a third lung because our topography is gentle. We sit atop a plateau with large expanses of flat and rolling terrain. Furthermore, there's no need to do any uphill riding if you utilize our shuttle service; or take your mountain bike with you on a lift for some incredible downhill runs.

Single-track trails, forest roads, and pioneer trails on public lands are open to mountain bikers; and plenty of good pavement for skinny tires -- all providing beautiful scenery; massive red-rock cliffs and canyons, colorful sculptured rock formations, flower-filled meadows, lush Conifer and Aspen forests. (Late June early August is the best time for wildflowers.)

Some noteworthy natural features in the area are cedar Breaks National Monument, a magnificent amphitheater of eroded rock, 2,000 ft. deep, containing a wide spectrum of colors and myriad rock formations; the Twisted Forest, a grove of gnarled, ancient Bristlecone pine trees - some close to three thousand years old; and our namesake, Brian Head Peak (11,307 ft.), offering a 360 degree view of the area including Zion, and Bryce National Parks, Cedar Breaks, the Tushar Mountains and even Wheeler Peak in Nevada.

Finally, to ensure your visit here is pleasant, may we suggest you use insectrepellant in July, sunscreen all the time, a jacket for our cool mountain evenings, and a camera to record you marvel -- otherwise, the folks back home just won't believe you.
